On to the next task…

In this post titled, “On to the next task…” the author describes her role as an admin and how she deals with her duties and her workload. The author explains that as an admin she is required to handle paperwork and always stay ahead and focused. The author also reveals her method of remaining calm with the workload at hand as an admin. She prefers to document what she’s done so far, what she needs to do and what she needs to do to finish the task at hand. In terms of my own habits, my method when dealing with tasks is to layout what I’ve completed and what is yet to be completed. This allows myself to remain organized and work effectively.

I found this topic engaging because I could relate to the author, in the sense that I as well prefer to get tasks done and over with and not have them pending to get done. The author expresses that the method she likes to work is by getting tasks off her plate and moving along to the next task. I also found this topic engaging because I am currently enrolled in an admin program and have previously dealt with scheduling meetings and staying ahead of due dates and assigned times. Thus when reading up on this topic, I could learn more upon my future field of work.

Digital Future in Focus

After reading the article “Digital Future In Focus”, I learned that the use of desktops and mobile devices in today’s society are almost seen as opposites. Given the various age groups, certain groups prefer different forms of technology than others. As mentioned in the article, the younger generation spends a greater time with mobile devices than the older generation. The article also points out a fact in which mobile devices applications average more than double the time than desktop browser applications. As mobile devices have evolved over the years, new features have been added and allow users to view media differently. Mobile phones are also more convenient and light-weight as opposed to tablets and desktops. As mobile devices in the past did not have much to offer, in present days you are able to watch television and explore media on your mobile device. This reduces the use of televisions in the household. Although the younger generation has shifted into the mobile devices, there are still numbers in the category’s of television. This category is mainly consumed by the older generation as they have been accustomed to this lifestyle their whole life.

A finding that surprised me in the article was that Japan spends double the time on average consuming online videos than Canada. This stood out to me because Japan is not relatively close to Canada, and being a great distance apart, we do not tend to check on other countries so often. The digital future is only evolving and expanding for years to come.

Tips on Social Media for Business

The use of social media for business helps attract larger following for organizations. Businesses use social media for several reasons, such as special announcements, jobs openings, special sales on products and much more. Social media helps attract large volumes of customers to businesses by promoting themselves on these networks.

Business are all in on social media, this is seen as one of the most trusted methods of promoting and advertising. The use of Facebook and Twitter are commonly the most popular web tools for successful business. Businesses gain large amounts of followers with sponsorship’s online through approaches such as customer rewards and brand loyalty. As customers create accounts with businesses through social media, they are often rewarded with discounts and special codes for future use. Brand loyalty comes as a an advantage for businesses promoting themselves on social media, thus followers continue to support this organization endlessly.

Although using these web tools for business use is effective, this does not mean the same in terms of personal use. The idea with businesses using social media is that they are trusted by large sums of people, this comes off how they portray themselves and how they go about their business. In terms of personal accounts, you typically do not have a grand following as you may have with a business. Personal accounts on social media are also a way of employers judging the type of person you may be, by the way you display yourself online through posts. Candidates with negative profiles are ultimately disqualified as people often say, think twice about what you post online. These web tools for businesses such as Facebook and Twitter are trusted more heavily as opposed to personal accounts claiming statements.

The use of social media helps businesses reach a more wide range of customers, through web tools such as Facebook and Twitter. Social media is only evolving and creating more opportunities for engagement and promotion.
